Tour commences at your Havana Hotel.
Be ready for your 09:00am collection from your Havana hotel, where you will take a transfer in a taxi to the Ernest Hemingway museum (Finca Vigia), here you can appreciate the personal items that belonged to the famous writer. You will then continue the tour to Cojimar, a fishing village which was used as inspiration in the novel ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ and stay on for lunch in a local seafood restaurant. The tour will then continue to Hemingway’s favourite bar ‘Bodeguita del Medio’ to enjoy one of his favourite Cuban drinks ‘Mojito’, followed by a stop at the Floridita restaurant where the writer created the renowned drink ‘Daiquiri’. Afterwards you will visit the Hotel Ambos Mundos, where you can see the room that the author used during his stays in Cuba and where he wrote part of his novel ’For Whom the Bell Tolls’.
After returning to your Havana hotel at approximately 16:30pm, you will have a few hours to freshen up before being collected and transferred to your evening meal. A taxi will collect you at 20:00pm and take you to dinner at La Barca restaurant, which overlooks El Morro fortress. After dinner, one of the best tourist spectacles in the city will follow ‘The cannon ceremony’. The ceremony dates back to the 18th century when the firing of cannons signified that all the city gates were closing. Today young militia men, dressed in 18th century military uniforms, perform the ceremony with great dignity and pride, loading and firing the cannon with gunpowder over Havana bay.
After the cannon ceremony, the taxi will take you back to your hotel, where the tour ends.
